There are days that feel like they’ve been quietly waiting for you—and this was one of them.
We wandered up Lewesdon Hill, Dorset’s highest point, just as the bluebells were beginning to glow beneath the trees. The light filtered softly through the canopy, the air full of birdsong, and that unmistakable feeling that spring has truly arrived.
Along the way, we paused to watch a tiny nest of baby robins, tucked safely among the undergrowth, and heard the clear, nostalgic call of our first cuckoo of the year. One of those simple, fleeting moments that somehow stays with you.
From the top, the views stretched gently out across Dorset, Devon and Somerset, all the way to the distant shimmer of the sea—quiet, expansive, and beautifully still.
If you’re coming to stay with us at Walnut Farm this spring, this walk is something really special. Slow, peaceful, and full of those small wonders that make a day unforgettable.
