Last week the RP Meats team took a day to look back on a brilliant start to 2026. 🙌

A chance to celebrate the hard work everyone has put in, reflect on what has gone well and think about how we keep getting better for our customers.

We are proud of our team. But honestly? We are equally proud of the butchers and businesses we supply every single day. None of our success happens without yours.

The highlight of the day? A cheese tasting during the break. Because if you are in the food business, you might as well enjoy it. 🧀

Thank you to the team at Highbury Poultry for welcoming a few of our key staff to your facilities this week.
Grant Kenny and Craig Bell from our Procurement Team along with Business Development Manager, Sean Kerr had a fantastic trip!
It was a valuable opportunity to visit such a modern and progressive facility and to gain further insight into the impressive standards and innovation across the business.

The visit reflected the commitment, expertise and forward thinking approach that continues to drive Highbury Poultry’s growth and development within the industry. Experiences like this are extremely important in strengthening partnerships and developing a greater understanding of the people and processes behind successful operations.

We are extremely proud to have been the main headline sponsor of the Plumpton Butchery Showcase Event 2026.

It was fantastic to see such a busy, well organised evening celebrating the talent and dedication within the butchery industry. We were especially proud to play such a big role in helping organise the event and to receive a special thank you from Principal, Jeremy Kerswell for the effort put in.

We were also delighted to have sponsored two key awards on the night:
The Apprentice Specialty Sausage Award and the main event - the Butcher Shop of the Year Award.
Congratulations to all of the finalists and winners who continue to raise the standards of craftsmanship in our industry.

Job description:

About Us:
RP Meats Wholesale LTD are a busy and growing meat wholesale company supplying high quality meat products to a wide range of customers across the South of England. With a strong reputation for reliability and service, we are looking to expand our warehouse team with a dependable and detail oriented Picking Operative.

Key Responsibilities:
• Accurately pick and prepare products for dispatch
• Handle and move heavy boxes with care and efficiency
• Ensure all orders are labelled correctly and meet company quality standards
• Work in temperature controlled environments (cold/chilled)
• Assist with loading and unloading deliveries
• Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organisation
• Adhere strictly to food safety and hygiene procedures

Requirements:
• Previous warehouse experience, especially in the food or meat industry, is an advantage
• Comfortable working in cold environments (PPE provided)
• Physically fit and capable of lifting multiple heavy boxed goods
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Punctual, dependable, and a strong team player
