Today Roly gave a great talk to the yearlings about their important role in supporting the species-rich grassland we have here at the farm.

• Short open areas (for low-growing plants and sun-loving insects)

• Medium sward (for most wildflowers)

• Taller tussocks (for nesting invertebrates and small mammals)

I hope they were all listening!
