We are a food education charity and cookery school in South Bristol. Square Food Foundation is 10 years old!

We're on a mission to make cooking from scratch accessible for people of all ages and abilities. We've been tackling food poverty in Bristol and teaching people to cook healthy food from scratch at our home in Knowle West since 2011. Fresh basil recipes coming right up!! 🌱

We're proud to be a part of Lush Greens Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) network. This means sharing the risks and responsibilities of farming more equally between those whose daily labour is growing food, and the people who eat that food (us and our students!)

After a scarily hot + dry summer and with unpredictable seasons becoming the new norm, it's so so important we support our local growers all year round, whatever the weather.

Plus, being part of this model means sometimes we're rewarded with the most amazing bumper crops, like this week!

Starting in November 2026, this 12-week course offers practical kitchen skills and work experience opportunities for young people aged 16-25 not currently in full-time education, employment or training (NEET).

Thank you Feast On and James Haggart for another mega weekend of celebrating Bristol's incomparable food scene 🫶

We feel very lucky and grateful to have been part of this festival for the past 2 years - giving us the platform to shout about the importance of food education and it's power to change lives!

Over 4 days we:
🌮 Hosted 20 cookery classes in fresh pasta and homemade tacos. Huge thanks to guest chefs Ben Harvey Alexis John and Josh Eggleton for sharing your wisdom.

🍕Welcomed 72 young chefs for kid's pizza making. A massive thank you to the Rova Foundation team at Pizzarova | Handmade Sourdough Pizza for donating dough, sauce and a beautiful new Gozney | Outdoor Pizza Ovens oven!!!

👏 Big shout out to our Square Food Catering & Events for not only blessing the festival with their delicious fresh agnolotti, arancini and eton mess...BUT ALSO feeding the entire festival staff and crew - that's 474 daily meals for 14 solid days! 🔥

We're so proud to be part of such a generous food community in Bristol. It's honestly only by coming together and having fun that we can sustain the momentum to keep up the hard work the rest of the year! 💪

We're really proud to reveal our refreshed branding, including new logo & beautiful new website! We feel this much better represents who we are today! 🔗 check it out via link in our bio ✨

But there is much more to this than a Square Food Foundation glow up... After 15 years of delivering high quality food education, we are renewing our commitment to tackling food insecurity. With a bigger team and with better tools in place, we can confidently share the impact of our work, and better advocate for lasting change.

🙏 A massive thanks to the many people who supported us through the re-brand process, ensuring our fresh new look is welcoming and accessible for the diverse communities we serve.

🥭🥭 Who knew we've been peeling mangoes all wrong this whole time?

Feeling very lucky to welcome MasterChef UK champion Brin Pirathapan as a guest tutor for our Year 10s this week. Brin shared his wisdom and knowledge, cooking up lamb koftas and delicious mango salsa 👨‍🍳

What a totally brilliant chef and very generous teacher 🙌
