In March this year our dear friend and co-worker Stuart McDowall passed away. One of our longest serving workers, he joined the Co-op in 1987 and was a true character, intelligent, hardworking, with a great sense of humour. Stu was part of producing the catalogue, writing fun and descriptive paragraphs in the new lines and promotions section he worked across sales and marketing. He was quite a wordsmith and liked to spend his lunchtimes on his deckchair outside in the sunshine doing a crossword. Stu enjoyed a quiz, playing table tennis in the warehouse and he was a huge tennis fan. He was a bike fanatic and he also had a great guitar collection. Stu will be greatly missed by all of us and by many of our customers.

We decided to take a bike ride 🚴🚴‍♀️🚵in memory of Stu to the Old Lock & Weir to raise a pint to him. It was a beautiful evening reminiscing funny little memories and things he's said in the time he was with us. A unique individual, truly part of the Co-op family and a pleasure to know. We'll never forget you Stu. 💚🕊️🌿

Drew had a great time sampling at in Braunton North Devon last Friday. This fantastic farm shop is nestled in Ocean Village in Chivenor, amongst an energetic community next-door to a surf shop, yoga studio and saunas, bike shop, sandwich shop, music and drama studio. With local independant brands and fresh fruit and veg readily available they have everything you need after a morning of activities.

We took a visit to last week to sample some of our Essential favourites 🥜 Nature’s Nutrition is a wonderful co-operative wholefood shop in the heart of Bideford which started as a family run business then grew with an enthusiastic team of volunteers, fundraising and hard work to what it is today. It's known to the locals 👪as a very small, alternative supermarket. Filled with high quality ethical food and refillable household goods, go check it out today.
