The UK government plan to treble data centre capacity by 2030. With around 500 data centres already operating and hundreds more in the works.
And while a large data centre can consume up to 5 million gallons of water a day, it is reported that the government makes not a single mention of water in its AI policies.
At the same time, more than 25 million people across the UK are currently on hosepipe bans.
It shows the general consensus of government priorities, continuing to funnel us further into being a society so heavily reliant on technology and committed to sustaining it above natural life.
