New Forest Fruit Snacks

We had a great afternoon welcoming Year 10 students from Mountbatten School in Romsey to the farm last week as part of their Careers Programme! 🚜🍓

During a tour of the farm, we stopped to check the Brix (sugar levels) of our strawberries and see how different varieties can have very different characteristics. We also chatted about everything that goes on behind the scenes to grow great fruit. The group had fun carrying out habitat surveys and using digital microscopes to take a closer look at what they found in the wildlife verges. 🔬🌿

A big thank you to Jo from LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming) for organising the visit and helping everything run so smoothly. It was a brilliant afternoon, and we hope the students left with a better idea of just how varied and exciting careers in farming and the agri-food industry can be!
