“Where can I get your venison?"

We’ve been asked this so many times and it breaks my heart to have to tell customers that we’ve sold out again.

The truth is we have really struggled to keep up this summer. This is because venison is (sort of) seasonal.

The reason for the seasons in venison is more about humans than about deer. Tradition dictates when we harvest deer. Usually this is done when their antlers are in best condition, as they are the much sought after trophies. More so than the meat.

We’ve had so much amazing feedback from customers about our venison, which means a lot to us, and hopefully this tide of appreciation for Arran venison will persuade the estates that the venison itself is worthy of harvesting.

Until then please bear with us! We are working with all the deer managers of Arran to keep stocks up as best we can, throughout the summer.
