Anniversary party bouquet collected this morning πŸ’•

We are finally enjoying some rain as we have been missing out these last couple of days. If it keeps raining consistently now the ground will be able to soak it up and farmers including us can start drilling for next year's crops
The walled garden will be opening for PYO dahlias next week .. along with yummy homemade CAKE!! And you are welcome to have a mooch in the Granary Giftshop which had a spruce up last week.

I will release some dates very soon!
Have a great bank holiday weekend everyone β˜”οΈπŸ€ͺ😎

Now that harvest is finished and I've had chance to catch my breath ... I wanted to share a few more gorgeous wedding inspo's. This one was from early June at Huntsmill Farm. Rachel's brief was beautifully put together requiring dainty headed flowers in plum, champagne, burgundy and blush to compliment the gorgeous palette of bridal dresses. And table decs with our curated DIY buckets of burnt oranges, soft yellows and creamy whites. I have to admit for early June it wasn't easy to create the bridals and was very grateful to Buzzy Buzzy Lepper and Jane Helsthorpe Farm Flowers for coming up with some fab material to work with.

A gorgeous mid July wedding with a very pretty soft palette to compliment the most beautiful glowing bride and her stunning dress!
Bridals and buttonholes by me and we used a piece of the wedding dress material to tie off the bouquet plus DIY buckets for friends and family to create two large milkchurn arrangements and robust foliage and dried flowers to cover an outdoor arch which could cope with the high temperatures and glorious but somewhat relentless sunshine.
Mother of the bride grew her own flowers for the table decorations πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘. So a great way to keep costs manageable and take part in growing and creating some of the arrangements. Not for the feint hearted I may add.. this summer has been πŸ₯΅πŸ₯΅

Harvest has started even earlier this year. The barley and Oil Seed R**e are cut and now it's day 3 of the milling wheat... plenty more days ahead but at least this year there is something worthwhile to harvest πŸ™Œ and currently I have quite a happy farmer which is nearly as rare as hens teeth.. as long as they are fed and watered regularly!! 😍

Such a lovely morning yesterday with this group of ladies who volunteer at Lindengate - the mental health charity based in Wendover, nr Aylesbury set on the old allotments in 6 acres using gardening, nature and conservation to help people of all ages with recovery from mental illness and improve their health and well being.
Giving my time and sharing skills for such a worthy charity and with a truly great group was a real pleasure.. often when so busy its hard to carve out time to do these things.. but so very worthwhile when you do. Everyone at Lindengate were so kind and giving to each other... it was a wonderful thing to experience.

In terms of workshops here on the farm, I am now taking private classes for small groups rather than offering up dates. From 2 to ideally no more than 10 px so we set a time and date that suits you and bespoke the sessions.. be it handtied floristry, bridal flowers, eco floristry mechancis for table decs and larger arrangements and also how to start a cutting garden and growing tips.

It will be bittersweet tomorrow for my father and I when we see our treasured vintage vehicle's being auctioned off at Brightwells. My dear little Moggie Traveller holds so many special memories... and I don't think any of us want to say goodbye to the Landrover.. and the last of Dad's tractors but there comes a time when we need to let go.. and it's someone else's turn to love and cherish them as much as we have.
Safe travels and thanks for all the fantastic times. Wishing them more adventures in their next chapters.

I'm making the most of the cooler early morning before the heatwave kicks in. Going to be a tough week for lots of people having to work in and around these weather conditions ... take care and stay hydrated!

Couldn't resist sharing this suspended caterpillar on its thread getting a bite for lunch! Nature is amazing!!
It's been such a busy month and have had no time to post or update you on what's been happening. This week has been πŸ₯΅πŸ₯΅πŸ₯΅ for all of us hasn't it? Pleased to get out into the walled garden today to get stuff done and thought this little wonder hard at work was one for the grid!
However I have just researched and its uncommon for them to do this.. has anyone else seen this before? Or is the heat getting to me?? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
