🐷 From whole pig to a freezer full of goodies! 🔪

We recently had a customer bring us their own pig to be butchered and prepared into a selection of cuts to suit their requirements.

The result? A selection of roasting joints and sausages in a variety of flavours! 🌭

And these beauties pictured? 😍 They’re just the Sweet Chilli Sausages, one of several flavours we made for them!

It’s not all about what goes on in our shop counter. We also offer a butchery service for customers with their own livestock, taking care to prepare everything just how they’d like it.

🌭 COME AND JOIN OUR TEAM!

We’re looking for another pair of hands to join us behind the scenes at Hoof to Block Butchery.

We need someone with previous experience making sausages and burgers who can come in, get stuck in and work confidently alongside our team in a busy production environment.

No two days are quite the same, but you’ll mainly be:

🌭 Making sausages
🍔 Making burgers
🔪 Preparing and processing meat
🥩 Helping produce our range of handmade products
🧼 Keeping the production area clean, organised and up to our usual high standards
🙌 Mucking in with the rest of the team when needed

We’re a busy, hands-on butchery, so we’re looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking and happy working at pace. Someone who takes pride in doing a job properly, works well with others and isn’t afraid to get stuck in when things get busy!

Experience making sausages and burgers is essential for this role. Previous experience in butchery or food production would be a big advantage too.

⏰ Part-time – hours negotiable
We can be flexible with days and hours between Monday and Saturday, so we’re happy to discuss what could work for the right person.

💷 Competitive pay depending on experience.

A little Sunday behind-the-scenes 👀

There’s a lot that goes on before everything reaches our counter, from breaking down whole animals and preparing each cut to making burgers, sausages, pasties and all the other bits you see in the shop.

We’ve always believed proper butchery should be visible, which is exactly why we designed the shop with an open-plan cutting area. Nothing hidden away, you can see exactly what we’re doing and have a chat with us while we do it!

What would you like to see more of from behind the counter? 🥩🔪
