We are Farm Shop Fish Mongers, proudly based at Pearce’s Farm Shop in Buntingford.
What started as our little seafood shack has grown into a proper 7-day-a-week traditional wet fish shop, and the support we’ve had since opening has been unbelievable.

Sunday: 10:00am – 4:00pm

Our counter changes constantly depending on what’s landed, what’s available and what we think is worth buying.
We work hard to source fantastic fish and seafood from around the UK and beyond, with regular supplies coming from places including Brixham, Peterhead, Brighton, Rye Bay, Suffolk and the South Coast.
You’ll regularly find things like:

We’ve already had some unbelievable fish on the counter, including our 57kg hook-and-line Brixham bluefin tuna – the Silver Bullet! 🎣

No problem.
We can fillet, skin, bone, portion and prepare your fish for you. If you’re not sure what you want or how to cook it, just ask us.
You don’t need to know anything about fish before you walk through the door – that’s what we’re here for.
Tell us what you like, how many people you’re feeding and roughly what you want to spend and we’ll help you from there.
🌊 FRESHNESS & QUALITY
Our fish is displayed traditionally over ice and looked after throughout the day by our team.
We take temperature control, stock rotation, cleanliness and food safety extremely seriously.
We’re proud to hold a 5 food hygiene rating from East Herts ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We also have fantastic stock rotation because the simple truth is – we sell a lot of fish! 😂
🎣 KNOWING WHERE YOUR FISH COMES FROM
One of the biggest things for us is building relationships with the merchants, boats and fishermen behind the product.
Some of those relationships go back well over 10 years.
Whenever we can, we want to tell you:

🐟 What species it is
🔪 And the best way to prepare and cook it
We want children coming into the shop to see whole fish, ask questions and actually learn where their food comes from.

Farm Shop Fish Mongers is an independent family business.
We’ve put a huge amount into creating something a little bit different at Pearce’s.
From the 28,000 scallop shells in our gabion walls, to the boat, anchor, outdoor seating and our huge traditional ice display – we wanted to build somewhere people actually enjoy visiting.
