🥛RAWTENSTALL, CRAWSHAWBOOTH AND LOVECLOUGH CUSTOMERS🥛

Over the next two weeks one of our deliverers is on holiday, therefore your milk may be delivered at a different time or be left in a slightly different place to normal.

We are setting off at around 11pm to make sure everyone still gets their milk before 7am.

If your milk isn't in the usual spot please have a good look around for it, if you are missing any items or your delivery is incorrect please let us know ASAP so we can get that sorted for you.

Please note on *Friday 21st* we will be setting off at 8PM as we have 2 deliverers off, so please check if your milk has been delivered before you go to bed if possible.

Everyone meet our cow affectionately known as Beatrice, (official name Edgar Drum)

Beatrice was fed digestive biscuits by Mum as a calf and is now officially the greediest animal on the Farm.

When she thinks no-one is watching, she sneaks into the calf shed and steals all the calves food before having to reverse out of the shed and it's very narrow door frame (it's not true that cows can't walk backwards) to join the rest of the herd for milking.

Beatrice's mother was a pure friesian and earnt the name Cannon Ball as she was a small black cow that would barge you out of the way if you tried to send where she didn't want to go!

We have tried various methods to prevent Beatrice from stealing all the calves food but she always seems to demolish our defences!😅

If you see Beatrice crossing the road you will notice she is the one doing the council a favour and trimming back the verges!

If you have ever walked along Holcombe Moor at this time of day or early morning you may have been met by 'traffic' above Buckden Wood, as the girls walk to and from the fields for milking.

They are very used to other commuters, whether it be walkers, joggers or cyclist, although they are not a big fan of sheep 🐑 (can't blame them really 😂)

All our cows are grazed from late March/Early April until late Octpber/Early November. 🐮🐄🌱

Our least favourite black and white animals!🙈

The egg theifs have been causing carnage across the valley and in Bury the last couple of weeks! More so than usual!

They have stooped to new levels following our vans along the routes and swooping in as soon as they think we aren't watching 👀

If you would like to leave something out for us to put your eggs in feel free. Tupperware, a box, a big plant pot, any sort of egg protection device you can get your hand on, we know the drill and will pop your eggs inside.

Fabric softener lids make great milk bottle tops if your milk lids are also under attack!

Please let is know if you've been targeted then we can form an egg safety strategy going forward 🥚👷‍♀️❌️

We would like to thank all of our new customers in Crawshawbooth and Loveclough, that have had their first week of deliveries, after we took over the Holt Family milkround from Peter and Steven.

We are a small family run dairy farm, in between Helmshore and Holcombe. We milk around 120 cows and are one of the last few remaining dairy farms in Rossendale (you can usually wave at our cows from across the bypass🐮 ) We have had milkrounds in Rossendale and Bury areas for over 50 years.

After working with Peter and Steven for nearly 15 years there was no hesitation when they offered us the chance to continue delivering milk in Crawshawbooth and Loveclough.

We have replied to most of the messages received so far and are making our way though the call lists. I will hopefully have given everyone a call back by the end of the day, apologies it has taken us a while.

Thank you for continuing to support a small family run business and together you are helping keep cows on the hills of Rossendale!
