TOMSON (Buxton) Ltd is a family owned and run business that was established in 1986 and has become a major supplier of fruit and vegetables to the Derbyshire and Peak District area. We also have an in-warehouse grocery shop which is open to members of the public 6 days a week. (Mon-Sat)

Over the last ten years we ha

ve diversified from being a secondary fruit and vegetable wholesale company to a primary importer with contacts across Europe and the UK. We have also extended our product range significantly to include milk, bread, cheese, dry goods, paper products, locally bottled mineral water and fair-trade produce.

🐄 What an amazing day out at ! 🥛

Today, we had the chance to experience the full journey of their incredible milk from field to bottle and it was genuinely fascinating!

From seeing the cows grazing peacefully in the fields to visiting the milking parlour, then following the milk as it travels directly through pipelines into the processing area, every stage happens right there on site. A true farm-to-fridge experience and seeing how seamlessly it all comes together was incredible.

It’s clear the team at Alkmonton Dairy take immense pride in what they do, and the care, passion, and quality behind their products really shine through.

🌟 Meet Mike 🌟

Mike joined us as a driver in 2020 and quickly became one of our most experienced team members, thanks to his excellent knowledge of roads and routes.

Although Mike had originally planned to step away from management, when we needed a Warehouse Manager, he stepped in to help, using his previous experience to support the team. Over the past few years, Mike has done a fantastic job managing the warehouse, keeping everything organised and running smoothly.

Skilled with Excel and incredibly organised, Mike is someone you can always rely on to get things done properly. If something needs planning, Mike is your go-to person — no detail is ever overlooked.

Now, Mike is returning to his original plan of taking on a quieter role, although it’s still no easy task! He now works alongside Debbie, managing orders and stock for the Farm Shop and continues to do an amazing job.

Mike truly has a heart of gold, and his kindness shines both at work and in family life. He’s always there to help anyone who needs support or a few words of wisdom.

Thank you, Mike, for everything you do — we’re incredibly lucky to have you as part of the team! 👏
