A final morning at Drumnafern herd, who have both pedigree and commercial cows running with a blonde bull. The cattle all looked great and obviously have great temperaments as they were all so settled even with three trailer loads of people walking among them.
The hospitality this weekend has been second to none!

We’re on a busman’s holiday!
Kindly hosted by the Northern Ireland Blonde Cattle Club, we are seeing what the blonde breeders over the pond are up to. Day 1 is an afternoon/evening event at Ballygowan Blondes, courtesy of Dave Gibson, and they are a fabulous bunch of blondies, could quite happily bring them all home to Rosebank.
Jamie and I also won the stock judging competition this evening, with thanks to HVS animal health for the generous prizes 😀

We’ve been a bit rubbish with the updates recently but it’s been a busy few weeks at Rosebank Farm!

We’ve been making hay while the sun shines 🌾🚜☀️

We’ve finally finished calving 🎉🥳🐮

And we don’t usually part with our yearling bulls but we’ve sold 3 in the last few weeks to fantastic homes, both pedigree and commercial 💛

We do have one 16 month old bull remaining. He’s well grown and not been pushed, and would suit a commercial herd. TB tested 💉 and ready to go to work 💛

There’s a very heated discussion going on this afternoon, because William, aged 3, thought the cows were hungry and so gave them a few more bales, and Edward, aged 5, is a bit cross becuase “they haven’t eaten up yet and we don’t want them getting too fat” 🤣🤣🤣
