Great to see Penrhyn 1 Atlantic going on and thriving in his new home, it’s always great to see stock you’ve bred going from strength to strength. Atlantic was sold last year in the Hereford Cattle Society UK Spring Show & Sale to Kinglee Herefords; we couldn’t have hoped for a more prolific herd to showcase our breeding in and look forward to seeing his offspring in the show and sale rings. Great to have Penrhyn 1 Atlantic back home and out with some Kinglee heifers, after doing such a good job over at Hawkesbury- he’s thrown some real impressive calves. Looking forward to seeing what he will do for us 💪🧬

With no Penrhyn entry for this years Hereford Cattle Society UK Spring Show & Sale as our ‘B’ crop sold away privately at 12 months of age, a quick throwback to last year with Penrhyn 1 Anubis taking 1st place in Class 7 and later making 8,500gns to Mesr W S Turner & Sons.

Penrhyn 1 Atlantic standing 3rd to Anubis in Class 7, later being purchased for 5,500gns by HCS President, Steve Edwards on behalf of Kinglee Herefords.

Our next bulls will be available in the Autumn Show & Sale 👀👀

Finally got the chance to see what our lad can produce. A quick visit to Glynne Jones at Cwn Defaid Pentir Sheepdogs to see the born April 23rd that resulted from Obi’s first service to Pentir Hana (full sister sold £6,700 last week) and he’s certainly putting his stamp on them.

Black/White female still available and is showing some serious spirit just like her dad, no doubt she’ll take to the job with ease when she’s older with plenty of style to match 👌🏻. All DNA clear with mydogdna.

After an eventful drive on Friday, breaking down with two bulls on the trailer and making inspection with only an hour to spare, Saturday more than made up for all the stress!

Our second ever outing to the Hereford Cattle Society UK Spring Show and Sale saw Penrhyn 1 Anubis take 1st place in Class 7 and narrowly missing out on the Resv. Senior Male Championship. Anubis later went on to make £8,925 after a flurry of bids, selling to Mesr W S Turner & Sons.

Penrhyn 1 Atlantic was not far behind taking 3rd place in Class 7 and later being bought by HCS President, Steve Edwards for £5,775 on behalf of Mr P Cobley for the Kinglee Pedigree Herd.

Overall we achieved a sale average of £7,350 on the day.

We wish the best of luck to both buyers with their new purchases and thank you to everyone who expressed interest in both bulls on the day! A special thanks must go to Glynne Jones for the breakdown recovery 😅, we wouldn’t have made the sale without the help! Also to E Brook Livestock Services for the help with preparing and showing the bulls on the day and finally to William Awan for the last minute sales ring support and to the team at Halls Livestock and Machinery Sales! Our next bulls will hopefully now be available come the Autumn Sale 2026.

Despite 2024 being a year to forget for us for many reasons, we cannot ignore it’s also been a year of firsts…

💥 Our first pedigree Hereford bull, Penrhyn 1 Watchman sold for £5,500 back in April.
💥 Taking our first Junior and Female Hereford Championship with Penrhyn 1 Ruby 2nd at Anglesey County Show.
💥 Exhibiting and selling our first pedigree Suffolk rams through the National Sale in Shrewsbury, with Penrhyn Black Magic away to a pedigree flock.

2024 has been a blur and most definitly a challenging one but it’s seen some quality stock coming through into both our herd and flock with some exciting sales prospects for 2025.

Wishing all our clients, friends, family and followers all the best for a successful 2025, we look forward to catching up with you all once we manage to escape the lambing shed 😅.
