Join our team - Farm Business Consultant

Due to expansion we are looking for another consultant to join our team either in a training position or experienced consultant.

Key responsibilities include:

🐄 Providing technical dairy advice, including independent nutrition guidance, fertility reviews, and forage management support

🐄 Supporting farm businesses through business performance reviews, including the preparation of management accounts and analysis of financial and operational performance

🐄 Assisting with business budgeting, forecasting, and planning, helping clients understand and improve their financial position

🐄 Working closely with farmers and rural businesses to identify opportunities for improvement and provide practical solutions

🐄 Supporting the delivery of tailored business advice that meets the individual needs and goals of each client

Westcotts’ agricultural team has supported a mid Devon farmer in successfully challenging the designation of his land within a Nitrate Vulnerable Zone (NVZ).

John Clapp, who farms at Hartnoll Farm near Tiverton, had appealed against the continued classification of his land within NVZ G18 following the latest NVZ review. A tribunal has now ruled in favour of the farmer in his appeal against Defra, concluding that the decision to retain the designation was not supported by sufficiently robust evidence.

Farming Equipment and Technology Fund - Now Open

The FETF fund can help improve farm productivity, animal health and welfare and your farm slurry management. A total of £50 million will be available to farmers, growers, foresters and their contractors to invest in equipment and technology. Funding costs are split across the 3 themes, with a total of 290 items available.
