It is with heavy heart that I inform you that this will be our last season of Glamping. All the tents and huts will be gone all that will be left is an empty field.
So to celebrate the end of the Glamping we are offering a 20% discount on all stays with us during October, so you can experience for the last time the comfort of the shepherds huts and the outdoor feel of the bell tents, oh and the warmth of the Safari tent as the wood burner crackles away.

So, our next sheep pitch is Hebridean.

With their distinctive horns these sheep are easily recognisable.

Sheep bio: The Hebridean is a breed of small black sheep from Scotland, similar to other members of the Northern European short-tailed sheep group, having a short, triangular tail.
I never knew sheep could have triangular tails!!!

Sheep!!
We have a lots of them around Highway, so we thought it would be nice to name our our pitches after some sheep breeds.
So, we have Ryeland; who doesn't look like the TV host! This chap is more fluffy!

A bit of bio:The Ryeland is one of the oldest English sheep breeds going back seven centuries when the monks of Leominster in Herefordshire bred sheep and grazed them on the rye pastures, giving them their name.

You never know it might come up in a quiz!

This is Haighas Form AKA the Safari Tent.
Did you know that when you book a bell tent you have exclusive use to this lovely space.
It has a wood burner, sofas, chairs, large table, pots, pans microwave and mini oven and much more.
You also have a BBQ to create some tasty alfresco meals.
If you have children there is plenty of space for them to run around in and its enclosed.

What are you doing for the school holidays?

We have lots of space for your children to run around in and if on a rare moment, they are quiet in between the running around they may see some wildlife!

We have bell tents, shepherd's huts, or if you have your own tent we have a field just for that.

p.s we have hot tubs... just saying!!

Gabriel Oak is one of our most popular unit this year, not sure why, maybe it's the convenience of having a toilet in the unit!! mmmmm!

Hi, Sorry it's been a while, we have been very busy ensuring our guests have a magical holiday with us and so far they have.

So, our exciting news is!!! for August 2023 we are having a 'Pitch your Own' field, and yes it is what it implies, you book a pitch and bring your tent and enjoy the lovely vistas from the top of Windmill Hill.

It will be semi-wild camping, with toilets and running water.

Highway Hill is an exquisite Outdoor Boutique Accommodation site nestled in the heart of the Wiltshire countryside, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the edge of the North Wessex Downs yet within easy distance of the facilities in the town of Calne.

At Highway we have a unique combination of resources, which makes it the perfect place for a relaxing break - whether it be a week sightseeing our beautiful county, a weekend away, or even for a mid-week stay of bathing in the positive vibes of the open countryside and woodlands. Our ethics of promoting natural, environmentally-friendly products extends throughout our pro-biotic cleaning products and matches our desire to support local businesses, services and the community.

We offer quirky luxury accommodation which maintains the connection to the outdoors, including our three Shepherd Huts and two Bell Tents. Each hut sleeps two and is well-equipped with everything you could possibly want for a cosy break - including a wood-burning stove. The two bell tents are remarkably spacious and luxurious, perfect for groups, couples, or small families, as each tent can sleep up to four or six.

We also offer a variety of activities to occupy you during your visit, from yoga classes and retreats in our beautiful converted Hayloft venue to outdoor adventure days for kids (and adults!) on-site and in our one hundred acres of land. We are lucky enough to work with talented associates who have brought animal education and therapy to our location with rescued and rare breed animals (check out the Alpaca walks!) and other options, such as Art Classes, Nature Education and Adventures, Tree Bathing, Guided Walks, Sports Massage (handy if you plan to go on many walks!) and many more. All of our talented associates are an integral part of our Highway Hill family and are passionate about making your stay extra-special.
