Had a fabulous dinner with some awesome museum wines at the new in Marble Arch. It’s a fun place and the food was really very tasty, the famous scallops dish was very well executed and delicious - the beef wellington was medium so perfect for me and genuinely tasty, and the sticky toffee pudding a very good rendition! Wine highlights a 2007 Margaret Semillon - fresh and lively with a long nutty finish - yum! The 2008 Wigan Riesling was again fresh with lovely mature notes - the reds good too for me the winner was the Eight Songs Shiraz 2006 that was at its peak, perfumed with lovely berry fruits and spice - at 20 years old it’s at its peak. Great presentation from the legendary too. A lovely Monday night !

Today is a sad day as we bid farewell to Jamie Harrison after nearly 29 years of loyal service! Jamie has been a fabulous employee, a right hand man and of course a great friend. Hugely popular with all staff over the years and of course customers in the shop and more recently in the wine bar as well.
Jamie is taking early retirement. We wish him good luck for the future, though he will still be making the odd guest appearance!
Jamie started with us, a young man with a pony tail, black leather jacket and a white car with white wheels !!
That soon changed, along came marriage to Angharad (Harri) and then twin boys Alex and Seb.
A good palate, a good sense of humour and a great work ethic have made Jamie an invaluable member of NYWines, he is going to be sorely missed. Cheers Jamie! Thanks for everything.
