Well… what a cherry season that was!

Firstly, thank you to every single person who visited us, bought cherries, shared our posts or recommended us to friends and family. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better response.

The first weekend completely exceeded all of our expectations. We welcomed around twice as many visitors as we normally would and sold what would usually be three weekends’ worth of cherries in just one weekend.

It was incredible to see so many people enjoying the orchard, and we’ve loved all of your comments about how good the cherries were.

The sheer number of visitors meant we had to make some difficult decisions very quickly, including stopping Pick Your Own earlier than planned. We know this was incredibly disappointing and if you were one of the people impacted by this, we’re genuinely sorry. We never want people to feel let down after planning a visit.

Running an event like this is always a learning process, and this year has taught us a huge amount. Fewer cherries due to some rogue frosts in blossom season and the increase in visitors meant we just didn’t have enough to carry on further into July as we normally would.

We’ve already started planning changes for next season to spread demand more evenly, improve the experience for everyone and better protect the orchard so that more people get the chance to enjoy it.

❗️Our orchard is now completely bare so we are now officially closed until next year.❗️

🍒IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT 🍒

‼️AFTER UNPRECEDENTED VISITOR NUMBERS THIS WEEKEND ALL CHERRIES WITHIN REACH HAVE BEEN PICKED‼️

You have absolutely blown us away this week. The orchard has been picked far more quickly than we ever expected and the cherries remaining are now mostly higher in the trees, so we’ve decided to pause Pick Your Own rather than offer a disappointing experience.

Instead, we will be doing the picking so you don’t have to!

We will be open from 10am - 4pm on Saturday 11th July and selling already picked cherries.

You are still welcome to visit the orchard, bring a picnic with you and those determined few amongst you may still want to have a search amongst the trees but we will be picking the top canopy for you to ensure they don’t go to waste and selling those throughout the day from our usual spot.

PYO SOLD OUT

Due to high demand, we are pausing our PYO this weekend but WILL still be selling pre-picked punnets.

We are still happy to welcome people to the orchard but as the remaining fruit is all higher up, we will be picking and selling punnets from our stall instead.

Just a stone’s throw from Canterbury, our beautiful orchards are the perfect place to unwind. We’re an easy stroll from the X3 bus stop on the flyover and have ample parking if you’re coming by car. Bring a blanket and enjoy a picnic in the shade after picking your fruit!
