Wantsum Brewery, established by James Sandy in 2009, takes its name from the nearby Wantsum Channel. Located in St Nicholas at Wade just outside of Canterbury, Wantsum brews a wide range of Traditional & Modern Craft Ale styles packaged in Cask, Keg, MiniKegs, Polypins, Bottles & Cans, supplied to outlets throughout the South of England. They have an online shop which ships Nationwide.

Our September seasonal is on the bar this weekend! Just a reminder that we are closed this Saturday for our annual beer club party. We are open Friday and Sunday as normal.

Opening Hours:
Friday 2pm to 8pm (BJ’s Pizza from half 4 onwards)
Saturday CLOSED
Sunday 12pm to 6pm (Brewkuleles from 2pm)

Turbulent Priest 4.4% Bitter
Hurricane 4.5% New World IPA

An exciting day for Wantsum, going to check out a hop that was identified 3 years ago by Head Brewer Andy on a visit to China Farm where Wye Hops are based carrying out their hop breading program. The aim was to access 100’s of potential new hop varieties. Andy picked out a hop that had very distinct dank fruit characteristics and has been carrying out brewing trials with the limited crop available.

Chris Daws from English Hops Ltd is now growing over 100 bines of this hop for us and this year we are hoping to get enough yield to brew a few commercial batches.

As you can see from the pictures the bines are looking healthy and rich with cones already and probably about 3/4 weeks away from being ready to harvest. Watch this space!🍻

August bank holiday weekend opening hours! 🍺

We will be open every day this weekend, but only for 4 hours in the afternoon on Monday. BJ's Pizza will be here tomorrow night from half 4, don't forget you can pre-order. 🍕 Bj's Pizza

It's not too late to pop in and grab a mini-keg for the weekend, we have a great selection of beers available including a new single hop and our passion fruit IPA. We will be offering a collection discount this weekend only, each mini-keg will be £20!
