CHEF / CATERING TEAM MEMBER
📍 Norwegian Church Arts Centre, Cardiff Bay
🕐 Zero-hours contract
💷 From £12.71 per hour (21+) — rate depends on experience and skills
We’re looking for an experienced, reliable and conscientious Chef / Catering Team Member to join our busy team.
You’ll be working across our three food businesses:
🌯 Yorkshire Wrap
Our fluffy Yorkshire Pudding Wraps, roast dinner favourites, pulled meats and street food. Weekend service, pop-ups and events.
🥗 Tiger Bay Pantry
Our weekday food offering, including salads, jacket potatoes, paninis, toasties, Welsh rarebit and homemade soup.
🍽️ Classic Food Caterers
Corporate, private and wedding events — from finger buffets through to more formal dining.
We’re looking for someone who:
✅ Has previous catering or professional kitchen experience
✅ Can produce food to a consistently good standard
✅ Understands food hygiene, food safety & HACCP
✅ Is reliable, organised and hardworking
✅ Works well as part of a team
✅ Has good communication skills
✅ Is flexible around catering bookings and events
Formal chef qualifications aren’t essential — practical experience within the catering industry is what matters to us.
Hours can vary depending on bookings, with previous weeks generally ranging from around 14–30 hours, although there are no guaranteed minimum hours on this zero-hours contract.
There may also be opportunities for additional work with the Norwegian Church Arts Centre in their café and events.
