Haut-Medoc? What’s that? Haut-Medoc is actually a region in itself in the left bank of the Garonne, just south of Margaux.
This particular w**e is a fabulously mature Château Charmail, a Château that dates back to the 16th Century and in the 1750’s their w**es were served at the court of Louis XV.
Nowadays it’s owned by a family from Bordeaux who spent years in the US, they have come home to the Medoc and are reconnecting with their French roots.
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. It has flavours of blackberry, blackcurrant, liquorice, to***co and coffee. Matches well with roast lamb, beef and game.
