Algorithm killer / new additions as promised:
Two new reds from Greece. A Kotsifali/Mandilaria blend from Crete, bargainous and super smashable - if I don't sell a ton of this wine, then I might as well quit. And a more classic Peloponnese red, a flagship Greek wine in fact, made from Xinomavro. Think black cherry compote, black tea and a hint of spice.
A pair of nutty whites. Timorasso grown where it shouldn't be, in Gavi vineyards - and hence labelled as Monferrato - this has bags of apricot and nut flavours and fresh acidity, ideal for rich creamy sauces or squash & sage risottos. Absolute steal. And then a really very tasty organic Côtes du Rhōne Blanc, to go with the recently listed red, fresh and nutty and with a hint of the local 'garrigue' dry wild herbs - again, creamy sauces, maybe pork or rabbit in mustard...
A couple of new organic wines from outside Valencia - a big fruit bomb made from Bobal, packed full of blueberry, cherry and strawberry, and a Garnacha that is more forest fruit, with a hint of fennel. Both bold and generous and perfect for summer evenings.
And then an Organic Malbec from Mendoza - with packaging that reflects the expressive colours found in the city of Mendoza, this is a joyous and juicy Malbec with notes of cherries, plums and a hit of dried mint.
Big bottles of posh fizz. I don't sell many magnums of posh fizz but a couple of people go for them and I like to keep a few in - having opened one a few weeks ago when we had friends around, there really is no denying the wow factor!
Finally another non-alcoholic product - I still can't get my head around NA wine, having never tasted one that wasn't disgusting, so I prefer to think around the problem. Vitikultur Moser may have found a good solution though, biodynamic red grape juice, wild herbs including wormwood and sparkling mineral water - I guess the best way to describe this would be alcohol free sparkling red vermouth, and delicious it is too!
