Today colleagues, leaders and furry friends from across our local stores set off from Kingstown store on their 19-mile leg of a regional effort to walk 80 miles to take part in M&S’ biggest FUN-raiser yet to support Young Minds charity, which ensures no young person feels alone with their mental health.

The walk began on Tuesday 9th in Chorley and today ended with the group walking 19 miles to Carlisle English Street store, arriving this afternoon.

This morning we provided a rest stop and celebration point for 18 M&S colleagues who are taking part in an epic cycle from Land's End to John O'Groats, the team stopped off at our store for a well-earned lunch break.

Our team are raising vital funds for youth mental health charity YoungMinds.

YoungMinds support thousands of young people and the adults in their lives every day through their services and their parents' helpline, offering support when it's really needed.

🌼M&S Big Funraiser!🌼

This summer M&S is helping to raise money for Young Minds!
M&S Lancashire and Cumbria are teaming up to walk a total of 80 miles for charity!! There is a total of 16 stores that will be split into 4 groups, The walk will start at Chorley store on Tuesday June 9th and ending at Carlisle store on Friday the 12th of June. Since M&S has partnered with young minds we have managed to raise over £6m, which is truly remarksable, young minds supports young people by providing advice and support through digital resources like their website or their TikTok, they do some really exceptional work.

Today is the last day our lovely Gill will be working in our café before its closure this weekend. Gill has been a constant in your coffee and bacon buttie visits to our store and has always provided incredible service.

But fear not, Gill will still be in the Kingstown store, as will all of our wonderful café team, to offer you their trademark fantastic customer service as we expand our range and have a bit of a revamp over the coming weeks.

I’m sure you’ll all join us in thanking Gill for her years of fantastic service in Kingstown Café and of course Gill’s unbeatable coffees! ♥️♥️

This week it’s Children’s Mental Health Week and we’re working with our charity partners to highlight the support and advice for parents! no matter what your child is going through, you’re the first person they turn to. However experienced you are, it can be hard to know the right thing to say when someone you love is hurting, or what next steps to take.

The expert mental health advisors at are just a phone call away. And they have online guides, advice and real stories from parents who get what you’re going through.

From our Farmhouse Bread loaves, to our Sparks Charity donations we’re supporting Young Minds by providing funding and support for vital resources. No young person should feel alone with their mental health, and no adult should feel lost when trying to help.
