I was just stood in my living room, mid phone call..…when the deepest, loudest buzzing filled the room 😳 🐝
I turned around to find a very large European hornet had flown in through the window.
Naturally, I did what any calm, collected person would do and opened the window as wide as possible for it to politely and peacefully leave.
Thats when I lost sight of it 😧
At this point, all I could hear was this very close, very loud buzzing…and after feeling something touch my leg I was suddenly convinced it had flown up my dress 😱
I have honestly never felt so vulnerable in my own home!!!
Buy thankfully all is well - it found its way back out and I live to tell the tale! (It actually wasn't up my dress at all, just my imagination running wild again I guess) 🤣 But it has got me thinking…
There’s a lot of confusion around hornets at the moment, especially with the Asian hornet being something we’re all being asked to watch out for.
