At Greenlands Farm Village we are all about bringing people together to enjoy a wonderful day out, whatever the weather. On our open farm you can pet storybook farm animals, pedal (size permitting!) a mini tractor, lark about in a hay strewn play barn, explore the wooden adventure set inside it and, should the sun be shining, picnic by the paddocks (but don’t worry if it is raining – much of Green

lands is undercover). In our artisan village you can buy award-wining regional produce in our farm shop and discover other foodie goodies from both near and far, savour home cooked, locally sourced cooked fayre in our cafe, or simply relax with a fresh brew while the kids revel in a soft play centre. You can also browse through a hand-selected range of distinctive toys, books, clothes, soaps and skincare, plants and wines. All this is the vision of Roger Mason who turned his traditional family farm into what you

We have had hundreds of name suggestions for our brand new girls 💕

Do you think HECTOR will like his new ladies? He hasn’t met them yet but we hope he’ll be ready to ‘crack on’ as soon as he does

We’ve had to pop an abscess that had formed on our boer goat Aggie Maggie, doing this will help to relieve any pressure and help her feel more comfortable

We know a lot of people don’t like to watch pimple/cyst popping, but does anyone actually enjoy it?

MEET THE YAKS

❓Did you know we added a pair of domestic Yaks to the open farm this year? Jack and Jill are an awesome addition because they’re really hard to come by here in the UK

YAK FACTS‼️
- They’re closely related to domestic cattle but have different scientific names
- They can breed with domestic cattle
- They have large lungs to be able to live in high altitudes
- Their shaggy coats help to keep them warm in the winter

So we put our tup out yesterday with the ladies with some raddle on his chest so we can keep an eye on when to expect lambs

KERRY MEETS THE WORLD FAMOUS NOMAD!!

This week Kerry, our farm supervisor managed to get herself some annual leave, did she spend it soaking up the sun? Did she sort out her garden? NO!

She took a trip back up to Dalscone & was lucky enough to meet the famous Nomad & she was such a sweetheart

Kerry went to Dalscone and had the best time with family where she watched Emma & Kyle do their amazing sheepdog show, had a walk through the paddocks to see Dinky Randy and got stinky feeding Merlin but her favourite part was meeting Nomad. She just struggled to leave without her 😂

Recently we had to bring in a sheep from the field that had a few tell tale signs of fly strike
Jordan & Luke have sorted her out and a few days later we checked on her and applied more blue spray to the wound, she is healing well now and just needs the wool to re grow

We have been very lucky in recent years that we haven’t had many cases of fly strike, and any we have had we manage to catch early on, as this can be fatal if left too long
