🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⚽ SCOTLAND WORLD CUP UPDATE ⚽🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Unfortunately, due to a lack of numbers, we have made the decision not to open the Taproom for Friday night’s Scotland match.

A huge thank you to everyone who got in touch, shared the post and showed an interest in joining us. We really appreciate the support.

The Taproom will still be open as normal during our regular Friday opening hours, so if you’d like to join us for a pint before heading home to watch the game, we’d love to see you.

We’re not giving up just yet though! We’ll continue to gauge interest for Scotland’s next group game and will keep pushing to see if we can get enough numbers together to make that one happen.

If you’d be interested in joining us for the next match, please let us know. The more interest we can generate now, the better chance we have of opening the Taproom and cheering on Scotland together.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⚽ SCOTLAND WORLD CUP AT SULWATH BREWERS? ⚽🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

We’ve been giving a lot of thought to showing Scotland’s World Cup matches in the Taproom.

With the first game kicking off at 2am on a Saturday morning and the following group games kicking off at 11pm, we’re conscious of the impact that opening late into the night could have on our neighbours, as well as the additional staffing and operating costs involved.

For that reason, we’ve decided not to open for the first match and instead see what the appetite is for the remaining group games (and hopefully a few more after that! 🤞).

To make opening viable, we’d need to know numbers in advance. We’re therefore considering a £5 booking fee which would include:

🍺 Your first pint on arrival
⚽ Entry into our Scotland Score Prediction Competition

We’ll put 50p from every booking into a prize pot, with the winner taking home the pot as a Sulwath Brewers bar tab.

We’ll set a minimum number of bookings required for the event to go ahead. If we don’t reach that number, all booking fees will be refunded in full.

At this stage we’re simply trying to gauge interest before making a final decision.

We’re now making a final decision on whether we’ll be opening the Taproom for Scotland’s World Cup match on Friday night.

At the moment, we’re still short of the numbers needed to make opening viable, so if you’ve been thinking about coming along, now is the time to get booked in.

If we can get enough supporters together, we’ll open the doors and cheer on Scotland with a pint in hand. If not, we’ll unfortunately have to call it off.

After months of planning, brewing and getting everything ready — our Beer Festival is finally here tomorrow at the brewery.

Our Beer Festival returns to the brewery on Saturday 23rd May — and it’s shaping up to be one of the biggest days we’ve had here in a long time.
