To our incredible staff ❤️☀️🍻
We honestly couldn’t ask for a better team. From the mad busy shifts, the late nights, the bank holidays, the summer chaos, and everything in between — every single one of you gives it your all every day, and we genuinely appreciate it more than words can say.

We’re so lucky to have such a hardworking, loyal, funny and caring group around us. McCann’s wouldn’t be what it is without the people behind the counter, in the kitchen, on deliveries and everywhere in between.

Days like today are just a small thank you for everything you all do. Good food, drinks, sunshine and plenty of laughs before the real summer madness begins ☀️😂

We say it all the time, but our staff really are the backbone of McCann’s, and we’ll never take that for granted.

Now… back to battering fish tomorrow… at a later time of 2pm!!!🤣🐟

☀️ NEWCASTLE CLOSED TODAY ☀️

The staff win this one… 🤣🍻
After all the hard work they’ve put in lately, and surviving the madness already, we’re taking the Newcastle team out for a pre-summer party so they can actually enjoy a bit of this sun before the REAL summer chaos starts 😅☀️

Big thanks to everyone who liked the post and helped them get their way 😂👏

Back open tomorrow refreshed, recharged and probably a bit sunburnt 🌞🍟

In fairness, the team have worked their backsides off lately, especially over the bank holidays and this roasting weather

Our pleasure today to help feed all the firefighters up on the Mourne Mountains. 👏🔥

These men and women have been working tirelessly right through the night, and it’s the very least we could do to support them. We’re incredibly grateful for everything they are doing to protect our community, homes, and wildlife.

A small reminder to anyone visiting the Mournes over the holidays — please be extra careful. Things like BBQs, cigarette butts, and open flames can have devastating consequences.

These firefighters would much rather be at home enjoying time with their families, not out battling fires.

Stay safe everyone, and thank you again to our amazing emergency services. ❤️

Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the fire in the Mourne Mountains, Newcastle. 🙏🔥

We are incredibly grateful to the firefighters and emergency services working tirelessly to protect homes, wildlife, and our community. Your courage and dedication do not go unnoticed.

At McCann’s, we want to do our small part to support you — all firefighters will receive free food and drinks for the duration of the fire.

We kindly ask for our customers’ understanding during this time. Firefighters will be given priority and may skip the queue, as they are working under intense conditions to keep everyone safe.

McCann’s Newcastle will be opening at 2pm today as we come together this morning to lay our team member Aimee’s dad to rest.
Aimee and her family are in our thoughts, and we send them our heartfelt condolences.
Rest in peace, Mark Begley.

Reminder only 2 big prizes per person but there is 20 mini eggs, 3-6 mini eggs beside each Golden Egg, grab as many as you can! Shop opens at 12 to claim prizes 🙌 good luck 🥳

We’re bringing a bit of Easter magic to Newcastle tomorrow! 🌊✨

We’ve hidden 10 LARGE GOLDEN EGGS around the town… 👀
Each one contains a prize number – bring it into McCann’s to claim your reward! 🎁

👉 Around each golden egg, there’ll also be smaller eggs hidden too… so keep your eyes peeled!

⚠️ To keep it fair:
Maximum of 2 large eggs per person

⏰ Starts at 11am SUNDAY 5th APRIL sharp

Get the kids (and the big kids 😜) out hunting and let’s see who finds the gold!
