Coppicing last week using a tree shear to rejuvenate a hedge which has no bottom growth or thickness. The new growth should result in a bushier thicker hedge which will be better for nesting birds and wildlife. We will follow the progress and plant up any gaps next winter if necessary.

If you run alone or have ever thought about starting, I’d really recommend halsteadroadrunners. I joined last January as a lone long-term runner and it’s been brilliant — friendly, supportive, and welcoming to all ages and abilities. I’ve learned so much and have improved my running technique. Couch to 5K or main group, you’ll be made to feel very welcome. And honestly… what else are you doing on a dark January Wednesday evening? 🏃‍♀️

Each December we employ a lot of extra staff to help prepare our turkeys for the oven. We are proud that all of them are local friends and family. Some of our staff have been coming for over 40 years and we are so very grateful to them all for coming along each year. Thank you to all our pluckers too, who missed out on the photo. 🦃

All our turkeys are Bronze Free Range, Game hanged for a minimum of 10 days to develop flavour, richness and ensure moisture; and prepared for the oven at the farm so no travelling and higher welfare.
