Farm Operative
Hours: Full time, 39hrs per week
Allpress Farms Limited is one of the UK’s leading growers and packers of leeks, farming over 2,500 acres across Cambridgeshire and Norfolk. Alongside leeks, we grow onions, wheat, sugar beet and maize, supplying major retailers with highquality fresh produce. Our operation includes our own onsite packhouse, where leeks are washed, graded, and packed before reaching supermarket shelves across the country.
We are looking for a reliable, motivated, and hardworking Farm Operative to join our experienced and supportive team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys outdoor work, takes pride in doing a job well, and wants to develop their skills as part of a modern, progressive farming business and is happy to support a wide range of farm operations throughout the season.
Your duties will vary throughout the season and will include (but are not limited to):
• Crop haulage using tractors and trailers
• Irrigation work, including setting up and monitoring equipment
• Operating the water bowser to support the crop sprayer
• Fertiliser spreading and field cultivations (depending on experience)
• Assisting with general farm tasks as required to support the wider team
This is a practical, hands on role that provides plenty of variety and opportunities to broaden your skills across different areas of crop production.
About You
We are looking for someone who can bring:
• Experience operating tractors and farm machinery
• A full UK driving licence
• A positive, flexible attitude, especially during busy periods
• The ability to work safely and follow instructions
• A willingness to learn and take on new tasks
Experience in arable or vegetable crop production is beneficial but not essential, the right attitude and willingness to get involved are just as important.
Candidates must have:
• Experience driving a tractor
• Full UK driving licence
• Valid Counterbalance FLT licence & Telehandler licence (Preferred but not essential)
