When purifying our oysters, we are nothing short of obsessive in our pursuit of the best process possible. Here Chris talks about some of the daily checks he does to make sure the oysters are filtering the fresh, clean water in our tanks properly.

On Tuesday we had a fantastic time at the Faber Restaurants World Ocean Day showcase lunch. When World Ocean Day comes around, this lunch is one of our favourite outings. Fantastic food, fantastic talks (always with sustainability at their heart) and the chance to meet some of the best producers. We made our way home with our brains whirring. And of course, the chance to adopt a lobster.

We already can’t wait for next year.

🌍 This World Environment Day, we’re celebrating one of the hidden environmental benefits of oyster farming. Our floating oyster bags help protect the riverbed while creating safe nursery habitats for young fish, crabs, and other marine life — supporting a healthier, more diverse ecosystem in the River Blackwater.

Meet Vasyli, one of the friendly faces behind Maldon Oysters. Vasyli is a key part of the team at the plant, where he expertly grades and packs our oysters — but his favourite place to be is down on the beach, out in the fresh sea air.

We’re still working on convincing him to love oysters, though… so far, he’s yet to be persuaded! We are working on it! 🤫
