🎄 A little kindness each day can make a big to difference this Christmas. 🎄

This November, join Springbank Community Group CiC’s Reverse Advent Calendar and help us support local people in Cheltenham with food and everyday essentials.

Christmas can bring extra pressure when a household budget is already stretched. Your donations could help someone put a warm meal on the table, keep their cupboards stocked or enjoy a festive treat. ❤️

📦 How to take part
From 1st–30th November, add an item each day to a box or bag. Then bring your collection to us on or after 1st December, ready to support local people this Christmas.

🥫 Food: Tinned meat, vegetables, fruit and soup; rice, pasta, noodles, pasta sauces, tea, coffee, biscuits and Christmas treats.

🧴 Essentials: Toiletries, toilet rolls, toothpaste, sanitary products, nappies, baby wipes and cleaning products.

Please see the poster for more ideas.

🍪☕ A little thank-you from us: Those delivering the first five boxes on or after 1st December will receive a free hot drink and cookie from our Community Café!

Whether you take part as a family, workplace, school or community group, every contribution is appreciated. If a whole box is beyond your budget, a single item is welcome too.

📍 Drop-off: Ron Smith Pavilion, Springbank Way, Cheltenham, GL51 0LH

Please share this post and help us fill more boxes with kindness this Christmas. 🎁

🏆🌱 BEST COMMUNITY PLOT! 🌱🏆

A huge congratulations to Claire and our wonderful Allotment Team! Springbank Community Group CiC has been awarded Best Community Plot at Cheltenham Borough Council’s Allotment Awards! 👏

This award recognises the team’s dedication, skill and commitment to maintaining an outstanding plot and contributing to a thriving allotment community. We are so pleased to see their hard work celebrated.

Behind every harvest are hours of planting, watering, weeding and care. Claire and the team give their time and energy to grow fresh produce for our Community Food Pantry and Café, helping us support people here in Cheltenham. 💚

Their efforts bring people together, create opportunities to get involved and put good food on local plates. That is something worth celebrating.

Claire and the whole team, thank you. This award is thoroughly deserved, and we couldn’t be prouder! 🥕🌻

Please join us in congratulating them below! 👇

❄️ Imagine opening the kitchen cupboard and finding nothing to make for dinner.

Your children are hungry, but there are still five days until payday.

You have already stretched every meal, checked every pocket and counted the loose change in the kitchen drawer. The heating needs topping up, your electricity bill is due, and the little money you have left cannot cover everything.

So, you tell the children you are not hungry.

You make sure they eat, then wait until they are in bed before worrying about tomorrow.

This may be difficult to imagine, but for too many people in our community, it is reality.

People rarely come to our Community Food Pantry because of one simple problem. It is often the unexpected bill, the reduction in hours, the delayed payment or the rising cost of everyday essentials that finally pushes an already stretched household into crisis.

When somebody walks through our door, they are not treated like a statistic. They are welcomed, listened to and supported without judgement. They leave with food and essential items but, just as importantly, with their dignity intact and the reassurance that they are not facing everything alone.

During 2025, our pantry supported 17,500 people. 6,943 of them needed our help during just the three winter months.

Last winter, it cost approximately £20,000 to keep the pantry running. This winter, with demand continuing to rise and food, toiletries and household essentials costing more, we expect to need £30,000.

That figure feels enormous but every donation brings us closer.

Your support could help ensure that a parent does not have to miss another meal. That an older resident does not have to choose between eating and heating. That a family facing its darkest week knows there is somewhere local to turn.

Please donate if you can. Even a few pounds will help. If you are unable to donate, sharing this appeal could place it in front of somebody who can.

Nobody should have to face an empty cupboard this winter. Together, we can make sure they do not. 💚

❄️ Help Keep Our Community Food Pantry Open This Winter ❄️

Last year, Springbank Community Group’s Food Pantry supported 17,500 people. An incredible 6,943 of them needed our help during just the three winter months.

Behind every number is a real person: a parent skipping meals so their children can eat, an older resident struggling on a fixed income, or a family facing an unexpected bill with nothing left in the cupboard.

Running our pantry during winter 2025 cost approximately £20,000. This winter, with demand increasing and the cost of food, toiletries and other everyday essentials continuing to rise, we expect that figure to reach £30,000.

We need your help to get there.

Every donation, whether it is £5, £10, £20 or more, will help us keep our shelves stocked and ensure local people can access food and essential items with dignity.
