Waghornes was established in the 19th Century by the Waghornes Brothers. It was originally at the lower end of the High Street in Cheltenham town centre. Smith in 1954, who moved the butchers to Prestbury High Street where it has remained ever since. The butchers shared premises with Mr Fogarty's Village Shop for a time. Nigel Kavanagh joined Waghornes in 1978 and he bought the business off J.L. Smith with the late John Venter.
