Some of you sharp witted folk spotted that the poster for the markets was a 2024 one, not this year!
Here is 2025.
Some stall spaces available, but not many!

Our direct sales of milk, ice cream and yoghurt are a big part of our business but the main bulk of the milk we produce is purchased by a producer and heads off into mainstream production for cheese and milk.
Next month the price we are being paid for this is dropping by 5p a litre.

Doesn’t sound like much?
In reality that equates to a drop of £27,000 a year for us.

The reason?
Because there’s plenty of milk available on the UK market currently 🤷🏻‍♀️

So what happens next?
With the drought over summer causing huge problems producing winter feed and increased production costs, a massive drop in pay means many farms won’t survive was already looking like a tough winter ahead.

When you see ‘special offers’ on milk just have a think about where that money is being lost - it’s usually the bottom of the ladder at our small farms.

Buying direct from local farms is the best way to support our industry before it’s gone 😢
