What matters more now: more chargers or better charging locations?

As the UK charging network continues to grow, our Hardware Manager shares his view on what the next stage of network growth should focus on:

“I believe the industry is at the point where it’s less about simply adding more chargers and more about putting the right chargers in the right places.

More chargers are obviously needed, but a 30-plus-bay site isn’t much use if it’s difficult to access, poorly located, has limited amenities, unreliable equipment or creates a poor customer experience.

For me, the next stage of network growth is about location, reliability, and experience as much as the number of charge points.”

We’re pleased to have successfully completed our latest external surveillance audit of our Integrated Management System, confirming our continued alignment with three internationally recognised standards:

ISO 14001 – Environmental Management
ISO 45001 – Occupational Health & Safety
ISO 9001 – Quality Management

MFG has held all three certifications since 2022 and was successfully re-certified in 2025.

This reflects our ongoing commitment to maintaining high standards and continually improving how we work. It’s also a testament to the dedication of colleagues across MFG, alongside the work of our HSE Team and Risk & Compliance Manager.
