Almost 24 hours on and the crumbs have finally settled on our inaugural Champion of Chesterfield Pork Pie eat-off.

5 of the finest pies North East Derbyshire has to offer went head-to-head and were blind tasted by our expertly assembled group of pork pie aficionados.

It gives us great pleasure to announce that Brampton’s Porkers voted Bexton's Butchers as the overall champion, with Meadowfresh of Chesterfield coming a close and creditable second place.

Thanks to everyone who came, ate and voted, but especially the amazing butchers for making the night what it was.

Same again next year???

Prep begins for our Champion of Chesterfield pork pie tasting event tomorrow night - a night that has completely overwhelmed us with its popularity and friendly competitiveness.
More than anything we wanted to give a huge shout out to the local butchers - a more top quality, hard working and friendly group of local institutions you simply could not wish to meet.
Good luck to you all - we might even throw in a dozen Brampton b**rs to the winner 😉

Hi everyone,
Thanks for bearing with us in what has been a really busy couple of weeks! It’s been amazing to see so many regular faces and all the local crowd!

Tomorrow we bring back the quiz!!! Hopefully similar to what you are all used to. Everyone welcome, buffet at the interval, plenty of drinks behind the bar and friendly staff! We look forward to seeing you, 9pm!

About Thursday night…

Another fully booked tasting night in the Bierhuis, this time teaming up with not one but two incredibly knowledgeable sommeliers, Jo and Chris from ASD Wholesale!

We tasted the brand new range of w**es launching in the Bierhuis from September including our first ever ‘Wine of the Month’ a superbly moreish Primitivo from Italy.
