It's been a very global few weeks in The Snug Kitchen!
A huge charity quiz night for Glanvilles, with 6 rounds, and 6 small plate dishes each 20 minutes apart; feeding 96 people and Glanvilles support staff. We love a challenge and that was pressure but fun!
The Mediterranean theme continued yesterday with a colourful mezze buffet for Lynne's retirement party.
Lemon and herb chicken, lamb kebabs infused with fresh rosemary, roasted Mediterranean vegetable pasta, smoked paprika, garlic and herb roasties, greek salad, Caprese salad, roasted peppers and sun-dried tomatoes, and some delicious olive breads, and hot honey flatbread. The dessert request was a very British Eton mess, balanced with cheesecake with a Sicilian lemon coulis.
Thanks to my kitchen heroes who helped make this happen ❤️

Time to decompress after a crazy, busy few days in our Snug kitchen.

*Bolognese pasta bake for post training grub Thursday ✅

*Sausage rolls and charcuterie picnic pots for Friday ✅

*Pre-match sausage and mash bash, with crumble and custard for Saturday ✅

*Feeding 100 (very) hungry players with a hearty sausage and Guinness casserole Saturday ✅

*Making an epic amount of sausage rolls for the weekend trade ✅

*Gammon and pulled pork baps with stuffing, slaw, wedges and roasties for the junior teams and parents on Sunday (110)✅

*Opening the food hatch on Sunday to feed the spectators with baps, burgers and loaded fries.✅

I couldn't have achieved all of the above without the help of my kitchen sidekick Karen. She really is the Ying to my Yang and sometimes we laugh,sometimes we cry, but our inner determination always prevails 🤣.
In 3 days the two of us rolled out an incredible amount of friggin' good food!

We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry, so we are proud to collaborate with Chichester District Foodbank.
From Tuesday 19th August, we will be a collection point for food donations. Check out the list below for essential items!❤️

The Community foodbank provides three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and other essentials to local people who are referred to them in crisis.

Their volunteers signpost people to agencies who can help provide support with a wide range of issues, including housing, debt management, childcare and mental wellbeing.

Chichester District food bank are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by Trussell, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
