Happy Sussex Day!

We’re incredibly lucky to call this corner of West Sussex home, and this summer we’re opening the gates once again to share it with you.

Today feels like the perfect time to share what we’ve been creating with some wonderful local practitioners, artists, makers and creatives.

From sunflower picking and golden hour Sundowners to Friday evening experiences, wellness sessions and plenty of countryside magic, Somerley Fields returns for selected dates from 18th July to 9th August.

We know just the place…

Today is Earth Day - and watching these little ones has made us think.

Bare feet. Muddy hands. Making dens, wandering fields, scavenger hunts at the seaside.

It’s how so many of us grew up here. Out in the fields, in the ditches, in each other’s gardens - long before anyone had a screen in their pocket. And it wasn’t just the children. People gathered outside. Floats through the village. The Forget-Me-Not Fayre. Those small, ordinary moments that brought everyone together.

We want that back!

That’s what we’re building Somerley Fields for - more than a PYO, somewhere families can gather, slow down, and let kids just be kids surrounded by nature.

On Earth Day it feels right to say: it’s not just the land that’s worth protecting. It’s what we do on it, and who we do it with.

This year, we’re trialling a new sunflower variety designed to respond to low light conditions.

We’re so excited to announce that our first glow-in-the-dark sunflowers will be launching for evening sessions at Somerley Fields this season

We’re looking for warm, friendly local people to join us to help host visitors and create a memorable experience at Somerley Fields this summer.

Light, relaxed duties, plenty of fresh air, and lots of chatting to lovely visitors.

Ideal for anyone who enjoys being outdoors and meeting people – whether you’re looking for a few relaxed summer shifts or would simply like to be part of something local.

First aid training or barista/bar experience would be a bonus, but not essential.

Still looking for things to do this weekend?

Somerley Fields is open for Pumpkin smashing from 10-4 today and tomorrow.

We’ll be there serving the best specialty coffee, awesome hot chocolate and locally sourced teas to keep you nice and warm!

🎃 Fill Your Barrow for £20! 🍂

We’ve had a bumper year growing pumpkins for the very first time - they must really love our fields! The patch is absolutely bursting and we don’t want any to go to waste, so we’re now offering full barrows for £20.

Pile them high and take home as many as you can fit - perfect for carving, decorating, or cooking up something autumnal.

It’s a brilliant way to make the most of your visit (and a bit of fun seeing just how many you can squeeze in!).
