We are looking for a Technical Assistant in a Food Manufacturing / Bakery Environment.
Hours: 3 days per week, to be worked between Monday and Friday. The role may increase to 5 days per week when covering holidays for the Technical Manager.
About the Role:-
We are looking for a conscientious and thorough Technical Assistant to support our technical and quality standards within a busy food manufacturing environment. This is a great opportunity for someone who may not already have technical experience but has the right attitude, attention to detail, and commitment to doing things properly.
The successful candidate will help ensure that food safety, quality, hygiene, and compliance standards are consistently followed across the business.
The role is normally 3 days per week, to be worked between Monday and Friday, with flexibility to work up to 5 days per week when covering holidays for the Technical Manager. Full training will be provided, including support to train as an internal auditor if not already qualified.
Key Responsibilities:-
• Support the Technical Manager and wider team in maintaining food safety, quality, and hygiene standards.
• Carry out routine checks, inspections, and audits once trained.
• Ensure paperwork, records, and compliance documents are completed accurately and thoroughly.
• Follow company procedures and strict food safety standards at all times.
• Identify and report any quality, hygiene, or food safety concerns promptly.
• Support investigations into non-conformances, complaints, or process issues.
• Communicate clearly with colleagues across departments to help maintain standards.
• Help manage challenging situations professionally and support positive conflict resolution where required.
• Take part in training and development, including auditor training if needed.
About You:-
You do not need to have previous technical or auditing experience, as training will be given. However, you must be reliable, careful, and committed to maintaining high standards.

• Confident communicating with colleagues in a professional manner.
• Able to handle conflict calmly and constructively.
• Willing to learn and develop within a technical/quality role.

• Committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant working environment.
Training and Development:-
Full training will be provided for the right person. This will include training on company procedures, food safety standards, quality systems, documentation, and internal auditing where required.
