The sun has started to make an appearance which means… it’s officially salad season! 🥗

Salad cress is the perfect peppery addition to brighten up any dish - but have you ever wondered how it’s grown?

It all starts with a carefully balanced blend of cress and r**e seed, sown onto a fully compostable wood pulp base. From there, it’s placed into our germination room, kept at a steady 24°C for 2 days to get growing.

Once germinated, it moves into our glasshouses for the next 2 days ☀️ and within just 4–5 days, it’s fully grown and ready to harvest.

It’s then packed into punnets by our lovely team and sent off to shelves across the UK, ready for your salads. 💚

Ever wondered how pea shoots actually grow?

Not in soil.
Not outside.
And not by accident. 👀

We grow ours on simple natural kitchen towel, then they spend 7 days in the dark developing strong roots before moving into our glasshouses for their next 7-day growth burst ☀️

Our growing environment is fully computer-controlled meaning we adjust light, temperature and humidity constantly to keep them perfectly on track (even when the UK weather can’t make up its mind 🌧️).

14 days from pea to plate-ready shoots. 💚
