The farm has been in the Gittens family for three generations since 1927 and continues to be farmed traditionally with animal welfare an utmost consideration. However, following the BSE outbreak in 1996 the Gittens found themselves suddenly unable to sell their cattle. They supplied a local butcher with a carcass and "the rest is history"...

Customer demand has meant that the herd of cattle has n

ot only grown to accomodate their popularity of supplying home grown, chemical free beef, but to incorporate sheep and pigs as well. Fresh Farm Meats
All the beef, pork lamb and mutton is reared and finished at Heath Farm. The beef comes from single suckled, well fleshed Hereford cross heifers, slaughtered locally, the carcass is then hung for three weeks plus in our cold room, which gives the meet more tenderness and flavour, then butchered in our shop on the farm. The pork comes from gilts because of its superior taste and eating quality. Heath Farm produces many varieties of homemade sausages ,gammons ,and home-cured bacon

The lamb comes from all home bred Texel cross, fed on grass and lamb pellets during the growing season and housed indoor for the winter months. Traditional Butchery Shop
