🦙 What a fantastic evening! 🦙

Last Monday we were delighted to welcome members of Clitheroe Young Farmers Club for an alpaca experience here on the farm.

Everyone had a wonderful time meeting and walking the alpacas, enjoying plenty of fresh air, laughter and great company along the way. It’s the perfect activity to enjoy with friends, family, clubs or groups while spending time outdoors and making special memories.

If you’re looking for something a little different for your group, we’d love to hear from you. Whether it’s a social outing, club event or simply a chance to get together, our alpaca experiences are always a hit!

🦙💕 What a lovely day we had sharing Brittany & Matthew’s special day at Browsholme Hall & The Tithe Barn!

Our alpacas were on their very best behaviour and were a huge hit with all the guests, bringing plenty of smiles, cuddles and unforgettable memories.

We do feed Felix, honestly… although you wouldn’t think so! 😄 He just can’t resist helping himself to the delicious hawthorn.

There’s something so special about walking with our alpacas at this time of year. The countryside is bursting into life, with wildflowers blooming and beautiful colours everywhere you look. 🌸🦙

Look at these thrush fledglings!

These young birds leave the nest around 13 to 15 days after hatching. They are fully feathered but cannot yet fly well.

If you spot one, leave it alone and observe from a distance, as the parents are always nearby continuing to feed and protect it.

Our alpacas are feeling much better after their annual haircuts! ✂️🦙

Alpacas require shearing every spring or early summer because, unlike many animals, they do not naturally shed their fleece. Removing their dense coats helps prevent overheating, heat stroke, and fly strike during the warmer months.

The shearing process is quick, taking just 5–10 minutes per alpaca. To ensure their safety and the safety of the shearers, alpacas are gently secured on their sides using specialised ropes, keeping them still while the sharp clippers do their work.

A little less fluffy, but much more comfortable for summer! ☀️💚
