Jennings are proud to announce a special celebration marking one year since the return of independence, bringing together families, friends, and the wider community for a memorable weekend 🫶🏼The past year has seen Jennings bring back classic, legendary beers, win awards, open the taproom and brewery tours, build a community and so much more ✨

The event is taking place on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th June 2026 at Jennings Brewery, and will celebrate a significant milestone in the Jennings journey and reflect on a year filled with progress, community spirit and a whole load of fun 🤩

🎶 Local live music (Ged Hagan, Yonder Acoustic, Ben Akehurst and plenty more!!)
🍻 Awesome beer
🎠 Family games and children’s activities (fairground rides included)
🎈 Face painter and balloon modeller

🍺 The return of Back Yam beer
🗣️ Head Brewer beer tasting and talks (1pm and 4pm on Saturday)

Come and join us and help tackle Himalayan Balsam 🌸 + a free pint in the taproom after each pull event 🍻 Don’t forget to register your interest over on our Facebook events page…

This summer, we are teaming up with to tackle Himalayan Balsam 🌱 There are four Pull Together events where local people can drop in to a bash to help tackle invasive Himalayan balsam, a fast-spreading plant that damages riverbanks, harms wildlife and impacts water quality.
Together, we’re aiming to pull 132,000 balsam plants before they can spread an eye-watering 33 million seeds.

Why are we getting involved? Because cleaner water makes better beer 🍻

The River Cocker flows right past Jennings Brewery and as you already know, we use local water in every pint. To celebrate the partnership, we are brewing a brand new beer, Balsam Basher, inspired by the plant itself and its floral notes.
And after a hard day pulling balsam, volunteers aged 18 or over can enjoy a free pint in the Jennings Tap Room 🍻

We have talented musicians at the brewery for the full weekend, in the taproom, on the riverside terrace (weather permitting ☀️ ☔️) and in the Maltings 📍

Why not come and dive in to the history of Jennings and find out about how our beer is brewed 🍻

Enjoy tasting Jennings beers in the taproom afterwards 👀

Visitors aged 12–17 are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult. Tours must be pre-booked via our website- link in bio 🔗 £15 per head.

Please note: our brewery tour involves open staircases, multiple levels (heights) and significant climbing, and is unfortunately not accessible for wheelchairs or those with limited mobility. No dogs allowed apart from assistance dogs 🐕

First 2 Balsam Bash Pull Together events: completed ✅

And what a great turnout we had, despite the miserable weather 🌧️

Last Thursday saw Jennings staff join the West Cumbria Rivers Trust team on the first pull together event - a fantastic day and a good start to hitting our balsam bash target 🌱

And Saturday was the first public bash, 43 volunteers total and 50,490 Balsam plants pulled 😮 AMAZING…

We’re teaming up with to tackle invasive Himalayan balsam along the River Cocker, helping protect rivers, wildlife and biodiversity. Because better water means better beer 🍻

We have already reached 38% of our balsam bashing target for our Pull Together events!🌸
