Supporting Fairtrade has been part of our story for a long time 💚

We were the first supermarket to stock Fairtrade products back in 1998, and we’re still proud to champion Fairtrade across our shelves today, from coffee and chocolate to ice cream and more.

This Fairtrade Fortnight, we’re celebrating the products that make it easy to choose a little more fairly.

The totals are in....and what an incredible summer it's been 💚

Thanks to the amazing support of our customers, members and colleagues, we've raised an incredible £67,251.12 through our Summer Local Giving campaign. Topped up with a donation from our Society, the final total being donated to local charities is a huge £95,301 🎉

Supporting local communities is at the heart of what we do. 💚

We’ve just announced the latest recipients of our Community Cares Fund grants, helping 27 fantastic local projects make a difference across the East of England, including: -

Cambridge Women’s Resource Centre, funding to expand free counselling for vulnerable women

Cycling Projects, grant for a new inclusive cycling hub in Colchester using adapted cycles for disabled people, older adults and those with health conditions

River Church Ipswich, funding to launch its Applaud Coffee Academy, offering barista training and employability coaching for young people and vulnerable adults

Dereham Cancer Care (Norfolk), grant for social and therapeutic support for people affected by cancer and their families

Since 2020, the fund has awarded more than £1.2 million to charities, community groups and local initiatives, supporting everything from tackling loneliness and improving wellbeing to creating opportunities for people of all ages.
