UPDATE : ALLS GONE!! The tidying up and moving on of all my brewing stuff continues apace. I've got half a dozen stainless steel firkins and two pins looking for new homes. 9gallon and 4.5gallon respectively. If you're a homebrewer and fancy one of them, or just want one to sit and hug and mourn the passing of Watsons Brewery (you can dry the tears off the steel) then ping me a msg on messenger on fb. £40ea for the firkins £30ea for the pins. They're ten years old, missing some paint and a few dings here and there, but still in far better condition than many casks I've seen beers delivered in!

Howdo folks. Just a quick update in case you were worried I'd dropped off the face of the earth. Alls well here, doing a fair bit of gallavanting now the wife and I are both properly retired. I've almost finished repurposing the brewhouse, but haven't yet returned to homebrewing!

Just picked up the empty cask of Omega from Colchester Arts Centre, volunteers busy breaking down the Colchester and North East Essex CAMRA festival, and staff putting the stage back up. And spotted another person in snowier climes checking in on untappd a Watsons Brewery White Otter. Not my beer obvs, and rather glad I don't have to make a round trip to drop a cask off and collect it. Rejigging the brewhouse is moving on, thoughts turning to my next brew, my first 'homebrew' since 2016.

I've just racked my final commercial beer. 'Omega' Imperial Dark Mild will appear at Colchester and North East Essex CAMRA Winter Beer Festival at the end of 2026. Before that there's a cask of Dark Distractions of the Night to deliver to The British Grenadier. After that I'll be brewing very small scale and putting into bottles. If anyone is after a 100litre brewkettle, 100litre HLT, or 80litre mash tun, get in touch :-)
