The way a kitchen feels to use is shaped by the thought that goes into it.
Having what you need close to hand, a place for the things you reach for each morning, and drawers that bring a little order to a busy day. Planning these details is as much a part of designing a kitchen as choosing its colour or style.

When planning their forever home, our clients wanted a kitchen that felt equally comfortable for everyday cooking and entertaining friends.

The island brings these two roles together. A hob faces into the room, while the circular timber breakfast bar offers somewhere to sit and keep the cook company.

Curved cabinetry softens the layout, with pale painted furniture surrounding the deep blue island. Practical details are quietly integrated, allowing the room to feel welcoming and considered.

A kitchen shaped around the simple pleasures of cooking, gathering and being at home.

A useful kitchen brief begins with how the room must work.

Consider the rhythms of daily life. Who cooks, where the morning coffee is made, what needs to be stored and which appliances genuinely matter. Look, too, at the architecture of the room and the wider project programme.

You do not need to arrive with every answer. A thoughtful brief simply gives the design process a useful place to begin.

Save these five questions before your first design meeting.

Three thoughtful decisions quietly shaped this kitchen.

The first was the layout. Two islands gently define the different ways the room is used, creating space for cooking and preparation, with a separate place for family and friends to gather nearby.

The second was the balance of materials. Holkham cabinetry in soft Tracery II sits beautifully alongside Sensa Vancouver quartzite, with matt black handles and taps adding a subtle contrast.

The third was the curved island. Its half moon shape and delicate reeded detailing soften the proportions of the room, creating an inviting place to sit and talk while food is prepared.

Practical choices, considered together, have given this kitchen its calm and welcoming character.

Save this approach for your own project planning.

A bespoke kitchen begins with listening.

We take time to understand how you live, the character of the room and what you would like the finished space to feel like. From the initial brief and detailed survey through to design development, manufacture and fitting, each stage is considered and carefully managed.

Ideas are refined together. Materials and finishes are chosen with purpose. Cabinetry is made for the room, then fitted with the same attention to detail with which it was designed.

If you are beginning to consider your own project, arrange a showroom appointment and start the conversation with our design team.

Appliance choices begin to shape a kitchen long before the finer details are considered.

Large 76cm Wolf ovens can be set neatly into tall cabinetry at a comfortable working height. A traditional AGA sits at floor level, creating a natural focal point around which the furniture, worktops and services are carefully planned.

Refrigeration brings its own considerations too, from ventilation and door openings to the space needed between the appliance and an island.

Choosing exact models before the design is signed off allows every element to settle naturally into place. Dimensions, services and clearances can all be thoughtfully resolved, leaving the finished kitchen feeling calm, balanced and beautifully considered.
