All our stock is registered with the British Pig Association who hold the only and official herd book for the breed. We understand that it can be confusing when looking into the breed and we are very happy to provide any advice to new pig keepers.

If you wish to support the survival of the breed the best way is to buy registered breeding stock and birth notified meat weaners from breeders registered with the British Pig association and a member of the Oxford Sandy & Black Pig Society 🐖

We have had a busy few weeks on the farm with new additions arriving and some more pending 👀

We purchased 40 Texel yearlings from Hereford Market who will have their first lambs next year. When we buy new stock in it is important we isolate them from the main flock and give them a full health check to make sure no diseases are spread. Luckily the new girls are all doing really well- excited to meet their boyfriends soon !

We also received the fantastic news that our rare breed Oxford Sandy and Black sow Cheddar is in pig ! We are so excited for more piglets due in early December!

Cowmeadow Farm is a beautiful mixed livestock farm in the heart of the Wye Valley.

We have a flock of Texel ewes and seasonally sell freezer lamb boxes. Our sheep are farm assured, entirely grass fed and reared with the highest welfare standards.

We also keep Oxford Sandy and Black pigs, one of the UK’s rarest breeds! They are slower growing than the commercial pig, however they produce the most incredible, flavoursome meat. Our pigs are outdoors with big pens to explore, and get to enjoy our beautiful farm as much as we do !

We have weaned piglets available throughout the year as well as breeding stock.

We also regularly have pork and bacon available.
