We had a lovely visit from Darragh and his family from Providence.ie.

It was lovely showing them a little bit of our coastline, our farm an of course, the Moilies.

Thankfully the weather brightened up for them too.

We really appreciate what Darragh is building with Providence - creating a map of Irish producers and helping people discover the people, places and food behind what’s grown and made here.

A beautiful evening at the moors.

The girls have plenty of work ahead of them here - there’s an awful lot of bramble and bracken to get through.

They’ll be grazing here over the winter, so it’ll be interesting to see what this place looks like come spring.

A couple of lovely briskets in the Beef Barn this week - one of our favourite cuts because it’s so versatile.

A brilliant day celebrating the Irish Moiled breed at Tullyarden - great cattle, good company and plenty of advice and stories shared between breeders.

From there, we headed to the beautiful Brook Hall Estate for a fantastic demonstration by Wild & Fired, followed by some gorgeous food and fascinating talks from Professor John Gilliland.

We were so happy to be involved in such a lovely day celebrating the breed, the people behind it and the food it can produce.

A big thank you to Dermot for hosting us all at Tullyarden and to everyone who made the day what it was. A very good day indeed. 🍀💚

The living history of the Irish landscape. 🌾

For more than 1,400 years, cattle descended from Ireland’s ancient native cattle have been part of this landscape.

Hardy, adaptable and naturally polled, the Irish Moiled has a long history here - shaped by the land, the weather and the people who farmed it.

To us, they’re more than a rare breed. They’re part of our agricultural heritage, and something worth keeping here for generations to come.

Let’s give this old breed a future. 🍀
