🐝🌼 The bees are still bringing in the pollen! 🌼🐝

Even as we head towards autumn, our busy girls are still out and about collecting pollen. 💛

But did you know… a honey bee will usually collect just one type of pollen on each foraging trip? 🐝

That means when you see those little pollen baskets packed with a beautiful orange colour, they’ve most likely been visiting the same type of flower on that trip. 🌸🧡

It’s incredible to think about how organised these tiny creatures are — every trip has a purpose!

And just look at that gorgeous orange pollen… nature really does provide the most beautiful colours. 🧡

🐝🏠 When the bees decide the roof is the perfect place for a honey store! 🍯

Sometimes our bees have absolutely no interest in following the plan… because, well, bees have a mind of their own! 😂

Given the opportunity, they’ll find a space they like and get straight to work filling it with honey. And occasionally, that space happens to be inside a roof! 🐝🍯

It’s amazing to see just how resourceful these little creatures are. They’ll make the most of every nook and cranny they can find and before you know it, you’ve got a roof full of honey! 😳

You can provide them with the perfect hive, but sometimes the bees simply say:

“Thanks… but we’ve got a better idea!” 😂🐝

🐝☀️ HELP OUR BEES BEAT THE HEAT! ☀️🐝

Wow… the UK is certainly feeling the heat! 🥵 And just like us, our bees need plenty of water to stay cool and hydrated.

💧 You can help by putting a shallow dish of fresh water outside for them.

A few important tips:
🐝 Add stones, pebbles or twigs so the bees have somewhere safe to land and drink without drowning.
💦 Keep it topped up with fresh water.
🌳 Place it somewhere shaded if possible.
🏡 Once bees find a reliable water source, they’ll keep coming back to it.

Bees use water not just for drinking, but also to help cool the hive during hot weather. They bring water back to the colony and use it to regulate the temperature inside the hive.

So, while you’re enjoying the sunshine, why not put out a little bee watering station too? 💛

Every little bit helps our precious pollinators through these extreme temperatures. 🐝🌻
