Yew Tree Farm is home to Heritage Meats where Herdwick sheep and Belted Galloway cattle are reared by traditional methods to produce award winning Belted Galloway beef and Herdwick Hogget. I also have an on site butchery. So if you

are in the area, you are welcome to call in to Yew Tree farm, as many of you do, where I will be more than happy to butcher anything from a single chop or joint to a full animal while you wait. Yew Tree Farm was recognised by Beatrix Potter as having outstanding wildlife value. So much so that she bought Yew Tree and donated it to the National Trust to protect it. I farm today using the same traditional Methods used in Beatrix Potter's day. I'm proud to be custodian of some of the most precious and treasured habitat in the UK!

June is a month of transformation here at Yew Tree Farm..

Lambing is drawing to a close, and the oldest Herdwick lambs are beginning their remarkable colour change. Sheep shearing season is underway too, with freshly shorn sheep enjoying a little extra spring in their step!

The hay meadows are bursting with colour as Jon and Tom keep a close eye on the weather ahead of haymaking. And, of course, wedding season is in full swing with couples making the most of the light Lake District evenings ๐Ÿ’š

As Mental Health Awareness Week comes to a close, it feels like a reminder that sometimes the simplest things really do help.

Fresh air. Quiet mornings. Walking. Watching the sheep and cows go about their day. A cuppa with a view.

Life on a farm isnโ€™t always peaceful or easy, but being connected to nature has a way of helping you slow down and breathe a little deeper.
